So you say you don't have time to exercise this weekend due to family obligations, get togethers or trips. Maybe you just can't get all the normal workouts in. Not to worry! "Play" can be a form of exercise too! If you have children, just playing with them at the park or in the yard, playing tag with them, playing soccer with them, playing on the playground equipment, jumping rope can all be part of active rest exercise. OR, if you step it up a notch & fit in lunges, push-ups, squats and more while you are playing with the kids, all the better! If you are at the beach, just walking or jogging on the beach is great exercise. Playing frisbee or toss football or volleyball... all forms of fun activities that still burn calories! Don't fret & just have fun.... if you are doing any of the above, you are working off some of those calories you are bringing in just try not to overindulge to excess. Enjoy!Sunday, May 25, 2008

Moving to upbeat music will burn calories too if you're stuck indoors.
I've been working in the yard quite a bit this weekend. Any idea how to compare this to a gym workout...in other words can I substitute it for my gym time? I am certainly very tired after several hours of weeding, trimming and raking!
