Work Out, Gain Weight?

Some of you may feel frustrated because you have gained some weight after starting a fitness program. You really need to look at what you are eating and doing to get to the bottom of the weight gain. Many people feel they are "entitled" to eat more since they are now working out. Well, the purpose of working out is to not only get healthy and fit BUT to also create a calorie deficit so that you lose weight! Pay attention to your food program and better yet, LOG your food so you know how many calories you are taking in and the make up of those calories. Just because you workout does does not mean it is time to eat a bag of chips, a piece of cake or a carton of ice cream!!!! I hate to be blunt here but you know this so let's get with the program and be real about it.

When lifting weights, I have said that muscle weighs more than fat so you may have some of that going on but it is not going to be like 5 pounds a month and if you do it right, you can lose weight, gain muscle and reduce your clothes size all at the same time!

So, if you have put on weight, reassess your food and be true as to whether you have entitled yourself to more.... you need to eat less calories than it takes to maintain your existing body weight to lose weight. Check it out!
